The Reunion

He enters.
She doesn’t see him, but her body knows.
And it vibrates –
a soft hum growing stronger ‘til he reaches her.
Then she is jolted to a place
Where she was cool and pink.
Her mind is an art gallery –
Red hot kisses at the back
of the Capitan
And blue nights in the Chevrolet.
This show will stay up for awhile –
a month or so after the reunion.
Then, the colors will fade
to sepia and gray
But her body will remember –
And wait for its next color shock
in five years.
