*Let Love Be the Change* is a lyric video created by Jaunetta Cooper and me... Here is the full text of Jaunetta's invitation to let love be the change...

This virtual event invites the facebook community( my friends and hopefully their friends and so on...) to "Let Love Be The Change" in our homes, communities, cities, and the world. The painful events in Orlando, Dallas, Turkey, Paris, or maybe even in a neighbors' home last night calls us to answer the pain and hurt and hate with LOVE. We scrambled with "what to do?" and "how to help?" after those tragic events. We prayed together and grieved together. Many gave money or donated blood. Some stood up at vigils and shared moments of silence together.

The moments of silence revealed to me an audible aching cry from the world. The cycle of hurt---pain---fear---hate---hurt----etc.... is powerful. We must interupt this cycle with the power of LOVE. LOVE can heal our pain and hurt. LOVE can "open our eyes and let the light in". LOVE can out shine the darkness of hate. We need to allow LOVE to be the catalyst for change in this world. Daily. Locally. Relentlessly.

Participants in this event are invited to do four things that I hope will "Let Love Be The Change" in our world.

1st. Watch my video and either post a heart emoji as a comment or comment "Let Love Be The Change". I wrote this song for a "Coming Out For Love" event held last October at Northwood Unitarian Universalists Church. I was honored to sing it at a Vigil for Orlando that Plymouth United Church of Christ hosted this summer. My friends Margo and Warren helped me in creating this lyric video. May the word and music resonate with all who will listen and may it heal the audible ache of this world.

2nd. Think about and decide how you can " Let Love Be The Change" in your family, home, workplace, and community.

3rd. Donate to an organization that is actively answering the call to "Love one another..."
I was honored to share this video at Northwood's UU church last Saturday during their "Arts in Action" event. This event raised money for four local charities. I invite you to support any or all of these groups when and as you are able.

Angel Reach, www.angelreach.org, supports teens aging out of the foster care system

CASA, http://casaspeaks4kids.com/, trains and supports adults to be advocates for abused and neglected children

Fill the Gap (Peace and Justice Network),http://www.yourhoustonnews.com/.../article_971775f7-e65e..., helps prevent homelessness in Montgomery County

Montgomery County Women's Center,

http://mcwctx.org/, helps to prevent Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault through crisis intervention, assistance, advocacy, empowerment and social change.

4th. Finally, share this invite with your circle of family and friends. "Let's find a place where we can begin!"
Maybe that place is here on Facebook.
Thanks for listening and watching.
Love,
Jaunetta
